Galena Names Alliance Management VP

Joseph Lasaga has been appointed vice president, business development and Alliance Management at Galena Biopharma, Inc., reporting to the president and chief executive officer, Mark W. Schwartz, Ph.D.
 
Mr. Lasaga has more than 17 years of experience in the pharma and biopharma industries in the areas of R&D, business development, alliance management and product strategy.
 
Prior to joining the company, he spent four years at Nektar Therapeutics, most recently as senior director, business development, where he led several successful transactions and managed key partnerships. He was primarily responsible for leading global business development and licensing activities for Nektar’s oncology portfolio. Prior to that, Mr. Lasaga worked at Rigel Pharmaceuticals where he held roles of increasing responsibility across various departments, including associate director of business development.
